Welcome to Refund Policy
Effective Date: [Insert Date]
This policy governs the conditions, calculations, and processing of financial refunds across Shikhar Education’s network. It is strictly divided between our educational services provided to students and our commercial agreements with franchise partners.
PART A: STUDENT REFUND POLICY (B2C)
We recognize that academic needs change. Shikhar Education complies fully with central consumer protection regulations, ensuring a fair, transparent, and prompt refund process for all enrolled students.
1. Mandatory Pro-Rata Refunds
Students have the fundamental right to cancel their enrollment at any time during the academic session. Upon receiving a formal written cancellation request, Shikhar Education will issue a pro-rata refund for the unutilized portion of the course.
- Calculation Method: The refund is calculated based on the number of calendar days or classes remaining in the scheduled curriculum from the date the cancellation request is officially received.
2. Module-Specific Cancellations
If a student is enrolled in distinct subject modules—for instance, dropping a Class 11 Chemistry term package while retaining their English and Hindi classes—the refund will be calculated strictly against the undelivered portion of the specific module being canceled. The billing for the retained subjects will remain unaffected.
3. Administrative Deductions
To cover initial onboarding, digital portal setup, and processing, a nominal administrative fee will be deducted from the total eligible refund amount. This deduction is strictly capped at ₹1,000 or 5% of the total fee paid, whichever is lower.
4. Processing Timeline and Modality
- All valid student refunds will be processed within 30 days of receiving the cancellation request.
- Refunds will be credited back exclusively to the original payment method (e.g., the specific UPI ID or bank account used during enrollment). Cash refunds are strictly prohibited.
5. Study Materials and Digital Access
- Physical Materials: Fees attributed to printed study guides, revision notes, or physical textbooks already distributed to the student are non-refundable.
- Digital Platforms: Upon cancellation, the student’s access to the Learning Management System (LMS) and digital archives will be immediately revoked.
PART B: FRANCHISEE REFUND POLICY (B2B)
Unlike student enrollments, franchise agreements are commercial, B2B contracts involving significant upfront investments in intellectual property transfer, location vetting, and brand licensing.
6. Initial Franchise Fees
The initial franchise onboarding fee is strictly non-refundable once the Letter of Intent (LOI) is signed and the proprietary operational blueprints, syllabus materials, and administrative training have been deployed to the franchisee.
7. Security Deposits
- If a refundable security deposit was collected at the time of signing the Master Franchise Agreement, it will be held in escrow for the duration of the contract.
- This deposit is fully refundable within 60 days of the lawful termination or expiration of the franchise agreement, subject to the deduction of:
- Any outstanding royalties or software licensing fees.
- Costs incurred to remove Shikhar Education branding, signage, and marketing collateral from the physical premises.
- Penalties for breach of the non-compete or intellectual property clauses during the offboarding phase.
8. Digital Infrastructure and Hardware
Payments made for specialized hardware (e.g., digital writing tablets, recording equipment) or software subscriptions (e.g., enterprise database hosting) procured through Shikhar Education on behalf of the franchisee are non-refundable once the equipment has been dispatched or the digital instance has been provisioned.
9. Contact for Financial Disputes
All refund requests, whether from a student or a franchise partner, must be submitted in writing with supporting payment receipts to:
